Commemorating The Life of Yolanda Renée McCampbell On March 9, 2023, Yolanda became absent from her body to be present with the Lord. Yolanda Renée McCampbell A.K.A. “Plick” was born on October 9, 1968 to Rev. Dr. Morgan McCampbell, Jr. (deceased) and Gladys West McCampbell in Selma, AL. Yolanda leaves to foster her memory, a significant other, Daniel Lee Coleman of 24 years. Within this union, one child was born: Morgan NaKya Coleman, McDonough, GA. Sister: Chelsia Mortrece McCampbell, Boston, MA / McDonough, GA. Preceded in death, Brother: Morgan McCampbell, III. Godsister: Le’Doree Laverne Phillips, Los Angeles, CA. At an early age, Yolanda accepted Christ as she was born a PK (Preacher’s Kid) and was Baptized at Hilliard Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Montgomery, AL. Yolanda was well rounded, quite informative, and influential in any subject matter. She could answer questions, debate or discuss politics, medicine, religion, history, etc. and would be veracious about all of it. Yolanda was also very knowledgeable and a book worm. People often came to her for advice and answers regarding any and everything. Yolanda welcomed all with open arms. Yolanda was a phenomenal singer and had a musical passion. She sang in the choir at church, at school and performed in many concerts as well as talent shows. Yolanda also was a member of R.O.T.C. during her Jr. High and High School years. She attended and graduated from Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, CA. She went on to attend Alabama State University, Montgomery, AL; Auburn University at Montgomery, Montgomery, AL; and Morris Brown College, Atlanta, GA. Yolanda was an Executive Administrator and Public Relations Coordinator for V.C.B.M. (Victorious Christian Bible Ministry), Los Angeles, CA. founded by her Dad, Rev. Dr. Morgan McCampbell, Jr. Yolanda also held other Public Relations and Receptionist positions at various other companies, Los Angeles, CA. She eventually met Daniel Lee Coleman in the late 90’s and they became inseparable ever since. Early in her years, Yolanda developed consequential health conditions and later was diagnosed with Uterine / Endometrial Cancer. She was an immensely loving, caring, empathetic and an inspirational mother to her daughter, Morgan “Poppyseed”. She was a true advocate and fighter for her child. Poppyseed was definitely her Pride and Joy. Yolanda was known for her famous hand made “Easter Baskets”. She loved and cared for all children and was always giving them candy, goody bags and treats. She never met a stranger, she could and would talk to any and everybody. Yolanda was adamant about attending livestream church every Sunday and attending Bible Study via online. She loved and praised God her entire life. In spite of her long and difficult battle with cancer, she always remained jolly, comical, and encouraging to others. Yolanda was the ultimate example of a true FIGHTER until the very end. She will be extremely missed by all who knew her. Yolanda further leaves to cherish her memories, a host of cousins, extended and in-law family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
