Rosebud Lemons

Rosebud Sims was born on November 3,1932 in Covington, Georgia to the late Claude and Suzanna Sims. She was the youngest of eight children. God sent his angels to bring Rosebud to her new home in paradise on April 27, 2023. Rosebud grew up in Henry County. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in McDonough. Rosebud married her forever love, James Edward Lemons, Sr on February 13, 1950. She became a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church after marriage. She was faithfully employed as a lab technician at Food and Drug Administration in Atlanta retiring in 1992 after 20 plus years of service. Her passion was gardening, canning foods and sharing the fruits of her labor with her family and friends. She taught her children how to cook as they were often in the kitchen with her. Most of all, she enjoyed cooking for her children and grandchildren when they came to visit. She especially loved spending time visiting with her brothers and sisters. Rosebud had a lot of love and great sense of humor. Anyone that came around her was guaranteed a good laugh after a slight conversation with her. She made you feel as if you were family even if you were not. Many of her children and grandchildren's friends affectionately called her grandma. On that early Thursday morning the Master was walking in the Garden of Life and saw that a rare flower had reached a stage of perfection. God noticed this extraordinary flower displayed the beauty of love, peace, kindness, and gentleness, the qualities in which His eternal place is adorned. Our Heavenly Father entered her into rest. Rosebud was preceded in death by her late husband James Lemons, Sr, her parents Claude and Suzanna Sims, three brothers; Jerry Sims, Ray Sims, and Andrew Sims, three sisters; Virginia Sims, Betty Sims Latimer and Francis Sims Allen, two sons; Jimmy and Carl (Cynthia) Lemons. Rosebud leaves a loving family, one sister Annie Sue Sims Taylor, two sons; Larry (Melody) Lemons and Randy (Desiree) Lemons. Four daughters; Marie (Luther) Walker, Joyce Lemons, Claudia Lemons Price and Mattie (James) Pearson. She will sadly be missed by her loving grandchildren (20), great grandchildren (31) and great great grandchildren (3) and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
