Idella Robinson

On Tuesday, July 16, 2019 Our Lord and Savior plucked another rose to become part of his eternal garden. Ms. Idella Robinson departed this life at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia. Idella was born November 20, 1943 to the late Richard and Lucille Allen-Robinson. She began her education in the Henry County School system, continuing her education in the Fulton County School system for a short while after moving to Atlanta, Georgia. She returned to McDonough, Georgia to complete her education at The Henry County Training School class of 1963. Idella was preceded in death by three sisters: Ms. Vera Robinson, Ms. Allie B. (Ritchie Mae) Robinson, Mrs. Inette (Inez) Robinson-Byrd, one brother: Mr. Odell Robinson. Idella gave her life to Christ at an early age joining Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. She attended church services regularly. After her health declined, she would continue to come to special services such as: Church Anniversary, Homecoming and Revival. Idella began the workforce working as a seamstress at Dowling Textile in McDonough, Georgia. She later began working with disable children and adults whom attended what is now called Henry County Developmental and Disability Center. Idella’s true passion was working with and taking care of the elderly. She took an early retirement from Westbury Nursing Home in McDonough, Georgia due to her health. Even though her health had declined she continued to care for her mother, sister and brother making sure their needs were met. She spent most of her life putting the needs of others before herself. She enjoyed, sewing, reading, helping and caring for others, especially her grandchildren. She worked very hard to make sure her children grew up with values and integrity. Idella leaves to mourn in her passing three beloved daughters and one son: Mr. and Mrs. Fabian (Telisha) Robinson-Riley, Mr. and Mrs. Stacy (Terri ) Welch, Ms. Cynthia Renee Robinson, Mr. Darrell Tionce Robinson, three brothers: Mr. and Mrs. Grady (Lovette) Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Ingrid) Robinson, Mr. John Duffy, aunt: Mrs. Nellie Ruth Jackson, brother in law: Mr. Willie Byrd, 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
