Annie Christine Crockett

Mrs. Annie Christine Crockett was born April 09, 1939 in McDonough Ga. She departed from this life on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. She was the daughter of Rev. Walter Elliott Sr., and Addie J Brown (both deceased), and the sister of 25 siblings. At a very early age she joined New Big Spring Baptist Church in Luella, Ga., and along with her family Christine served faithfully and wholeheartedly. She later met, fell in love, and married the late Mr. Ed Crockett, and to this union 5 children were born. In life Christine was devoted and faithful to both her husband and children. The love and support she would later display during the lengthy illness of her dearly departed husband (Mr. Ed Crockett) would further reveal a more caring and committed wife, and mother. On October 24, 1980, her beloved Ed went home to be with the Lord. Now a young widow, Christine (as known to many) decided to take a part-time job, she was hired at the local Moose Lodge in McDonough Ga. Although this was a brief time of employment she took her job very seriously and thoroughly enjoyed her position as a Food Server. She would later move to Atlanta Ga with her youngest daughter (Shelia), it was while living there that she heard the great news about her nephew Rev. Milton Goggins and the great work that God was doing through his ministry. Christine also heard and obeyed the direction by the Spirit of God to move her membership to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, and there she attended and faithfully served until the Lord summoned her to a higher calling. Aunt Christine’s (also known to many) love for her extended family afforded her the opportunity to join in leadership with the Elliott’s Family Reunion committee. Her leadership abilities began to blossom as she assisted with kitchen duties and served on the planning committee and also as the family’s “T-shirt” purchaser. These duties she performed always in excellence, that is until her health began to fade. She was also well known for her collard greens and neckbones at the Elliott’s family reunion. It has been told that the lines stood still until Aunt Chris’s greens and neckbones arrived. Ensuring the bond of family was extremely important to her and one of her favorite ways to show that was by cooking. She will be fondly remembered and always celebrated by her loving family which includes 2 sons and 3 daughters, one daughter-in-law, one adopted daughter, Eddie Crockett Jr., Stephen Crockett (Sabrina), Erma J. Crockett, Allen E. & Jacqueline L. Jones, Shelia V Crockett, and Kim Springer, all residing in the state of Georgia. Mr. Eddie Wyatt (stepson) deceased. Christine’s family continues with; 21 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and 15 great-great grands; She also leaves to mourn her passing; 4 brothers and 1 sister….Rev. Robert & (JoAnn) Elliott (GA.), Rev. Frank Elliott, and Mr. James C. Elliott (Ohio), Mrs. Parie L. Bogan, and Rev. Eddie J. & (Effie) Elliott, (GA.), one very special brother-in-law Mr. John Bogan (Ala.), one great uncle Mr. Sam Grier, and one great auntie Ms. Doris Grier both of Jackson Ga., and an enormous host of nieces, nephews, and very special friends. Family would also like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Cynthia Stroud, who helped in caring for Mother.
