WIlliam "W.M." Wade Sr.

December 20, 1923 - December 18, 2020

William Wade Sr. ( W. M. ) was born on December 20, 1923 to the late Clemmie and Mattie Wade. He was the fourth of seven children. He was called home on December 18, 2020. W. M. attended school in the Ola Church School Community. He confessed Christ as his personal savior at an early age, joining the Unity Grove Baptist Church. He served on the Usher Board, Sunday School Superintendent and Chairman of the Deacon Board for many years. W. M. served in World War II. He was a long time employee of the Atlanta Army Depot (Fort Gillem) where he retired. After retiring he became of long time employee of the Henry County Board of Education. W. M. was united in marriage to Marion Lee Tyler on October 1, 1944. To this union six children were born. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved the Atlanta Braves and was also a member of the American Legion Post 516. W. M. was preceded in death by his parents Clemmie and Mattie Wade; wife, Marion Lee Wade; son, Obbie Lee Wade; grandson, Rodriguez Renard Wade; brothers, Morris Wade, Hollis Wade and Arthur Goodrum; sisters, Lottie Williams, Nettie Billings and Marion Solomon. W. M. leaves to cherish his loving memories, his five children, Willie Ann Evans, James Calvin Wade (Linda), William Wade Jr. (Trudie), Margaret Marie Thomas (Robert) and Samuel Lee Wade (Gloria); 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 sisters in law, Lois Tyler, Catherine Tyler and Daisy Hanson; 2 brothers in law, Elmer Tyler and J. C. Tyler; devoted friends, Allen Nettles and Otis Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
