Terry D. Thomas

April 27, 1953 - December 15, 2018

McDonough Chapel Terry D. Thomas, 65, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 15, 2018. No doubt it was a glorious day when Terry entered the world on April 27, 1953 in Richland GA. She was the oldest of five siblings of the late Judy B. Rivers of McDonough GA Terry was a daughter of God, faithful disciple of Jesus, loving daughter, granddaughter, cherished sister, niece, and cousin. She was devoted mother, grandmother, trusted friend and co-worker. Kind hearted spirit with a low speaking voice known to us as "The General" She confessed her faith in Christ at a young age at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a faithful member for more than 50 years. She was a loyal member of the choir and a communion steward. After graduating from Henry County High in McDonough Ga in 1971, where she played in the marching band, Terry went on to attend the University of Iowa and Ga Tech where she received her BA degree in computer technology. Terry was employed at Georgia Power later known as a Southern Company in Atlanta GA for more than 40 years, where she retired as a Senior IT Analyst. She loved to travel, never wanting to drive, but would always ride. Being with family was a great pleasure to her, especially Sunday after church. Yes, sadly on Saturday, December 15, 2018 a legacy of love and service came to an end when the voice of Jesus whispered softly "You've fought a good fight, you've finished your course, come home and get your reward. Rejoicing in Terry's homegoing, but forever cherishing her lovely memories, her devoted son, Korendo (Ren) Thomas; grandchildren, Jamari, Taylor, and Morgan (Kim Bone); siblings, Alonza (Vanessa) Thomas, Brenda (Fred) Hill, Sonja (Jerry) Fields; a faithful friend, Wonzo Thompson; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Terry was preceded in death by her mother Judy B. Rivers, a brother Donald, grandparents Edd and Claudia Thomas and a few aunts and uncles that welcomed her into the gates of heaven.
