Marguerite (Margaree) Thurman

Marguerite “Margie” Thurman was born in McDonough, GA on January 16, 1931 to the late Adell Barber Gresham and Willie Ruth Wyatt. She was educated in the Henry County School System. She gave her life to Christ at an early age at the Mt Carmel Baptist Church where later joined Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev R H Milner. She served as an active member in the Senior choir until health started to decline. Margie was married to the late Aaron Thurman, Jr. and to this union four children were born, Barbara, Marvin Ray, Rickey and Phyllis. Most of her married life she was a loving wife and mother. In 1973 she started a home daycare, where she was affectionately known as Ma Margie. This career lasted for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by sister, Essie Norris, brothers Douglas, Willie Frank, and Kesley Wyatt Margie leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Barbara Goodrum and Phyllis Thurman; sons Marvin Ray (Sharron) and Rickey Thurman; sister, Annette Mapp of Decatur, GA; 5 grandchildren, Andrea Thurman, Gary Goodrum (Dee), Jennifer Anderson (Phillip), Tomika Goodrum and Brittany Thurman; 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, as well as two very devoted friends Mrs Willie Varner and Ms. Mae Ruth McClendon
