She was the second of four children all have preceded her in death. On March 20, 2020 Loretta peacefully made her transition from earth to glory. Loretta was educated in New York City, NY. She graduated from High School and went on to marry the love of her life Eugene Springer on July 1, 1949. From that union they had three children, Yvonne, Reggie and Tony. Reggie preceded her in death and it nearly broke her heart, but with the Lord’s help she came out on the other side stronger. Her early childhood wasn’t easy her mother passed away when she was 9 years old. Loretta was raised by her grandparents and accepted Christ at an early age. Loretta was a homemaker and loved being a mother. She felt motherhood was the best job she could ever have, until she became a grandmother, she truly loved her grandchildren, then she became a great grandmother and she said “it doesn’t get any better than this.” Loretta enjoyed being around her friends, she was a generous and loving friend and neighbor. Everyone knew that they could count on her. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was part of a card club. Loretta was known as the neighborhood hair dresser, all the little girls in the neighborhood would come to her to get their hair done for Easter. She was also an excellent cook and loved to bake. She was known for her chocolate cakes. Loretta leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughter, Yvonne Duncan (Al);son, Tony;two grandsons, Tony, Jr. and Reggie Jr.; two granddaughters, Nicole Barber (Shawn) and Danielle Plaugher (Jeremy), eight great grandchildren, Niko, Noah, Zaera, Deacon, Xander, Cade, Natalie and Emmy, a host of other relatives and friends.
