He was born to Adell and Bannie Banks. Horace married Doris Fennell in 1955. The couple had two daughters. Horace was a jazz enthusiast who loved Miles Davis; a sports fan who was a die hard supporter of the New York Giants. Horace enjoyed fishing and gardening. He loved being around family and enjoyed playing pranks on them. Horace worked for Levester Towers as a police officer then as a maintenance worker until his retirement after 20 plus years. Horace was loved by many and his family will cherish his precious memories. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Banks, his daughter Karen Banks , siblings Almond Banks, John Henry Banks, Lee Earnest Banks, Sarah Banks Evans, Mary Banks Nixon Waddell, and Marian Banks Simpson. Left to celebrate his life is his daughter Cheryl Ellison, grandsons Terrel and Rashaun Ellison and their wives, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of special family members & friends.
