A Time to Be Born: Betty Jo Hambrick Ponder was born on March 16, 1947 to the late J.W. Hambrick and the late Odessa Hambrick in Stockbridge, Georgia. She was their bundle of joy. A Time to Serve: Betty accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. Mother Betty was a loyal and faithful member of Saints of God Holiness Church for many years. She served on the Mother’s Board as President until her health failed in 2015. She loved her church family. A Time to Live Her Best Life: Betty completed her primary years of education in the Henry County School System. Her family moved to Clayton County where she completed her High School education at W. A. Fountain High School. She furthered her education by attending Holt Smith Technical School where she studied Business Administration. She was a dedicated employee at Consolidated Freightways for15-years and Retired in 2007 from Clayton County Board of Education. Betty was united in Holy Matrimony on June 8, 1969 to the love of her life, the late Henry Lewis Ponder and to this union her only child, Dawn Loita Ponder was born. She was also blessed to have two bonus children, the late Gary Ponder and Linda Anderson (Alonzo). In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, fishing, traveling and spending time with her grandbabies. A Time to Transition: Betty was proceeded in death by her Husband, Henry Lewis Ponder; Parents, J.W. and Odessa Hambrick; Step-son, Gary Ponder; Sisters, Beverly Hayes and Delores Fredrick; Brother, Johnny Hambrick. Betty answered the Lord’s call on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 8:10am. A Time to Mourn: Betty leaves to cherish her loving memories, Devoted Daughters, Dawn Ponder-Hall (Cody) and Linda Anderson (Alonzo); Grandchildren, Cameron Rakeem Austin, Calil Rashad Austin, Cody O`Ryan Hall, Tameka Anderson, Alonzo Anderson, Jr and Gary Hickson; Sisters, Carolyn Favors (Walter), Linda Banks (RC), Rachel Hunt (William); Brothers, Billy Franks, Ralph Hambrick (Gloria), Randy Hambrick (Jacqueline), Dwight Hambrick, and Jeffrey Hambrick; Aunt, Annette Brown and Host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Relatives and Friends.
