Norma Brown

McDonough Chapel Norma Brown, daughter of Andrea Berry and the late Norman Berry, was born on September 8, 1961, in Chicago Illinois. Norma met Charles Brown on July 4, 1987 and married on December 31, 1987 in Chicago, Illinois. They were married for 30 years and loved each other dearly and faithfully cared and nurtured each other in sickness and in health. Norma was a graduate of Hirsch High School in Chicago Illinois. Norma had a great passion for the haircare business and was a well-known licensed Master Cosmetologist and cosmetology instructor. Norma was a certified public speaker through the John Maxwell Global Coaching Service where she refined her speaking and coaching talents. She was a motivational speaker at Henry County High School and Ola Middle School. She also mentored high risk students. She was very inspired to see students overcome obstacles and get their lives back on course. Norma loved to travel and working with children helping others who were in need. Norma loved animals, especially small dogs. She recently purchased a femaleminiature schnauzer dog and named her Dunkin. Dunkin was a special gift to her husband Charles because he loved Dunkin donuts.” Norma was an author, who wrote her first book, entitled “Turning Heads for God” in Marketplace. Although she was unable to get it published. It is a powerful book of encouragement. “ We are the salt of the world, You make the world a better place.” is a short excerpt from her book. Norma was a Christian counselor and Public speaker. Norma received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior in 2001 at Salem Baptist Church, Atlanta, Ga.She was a member of Higher Living Church, Jonesboro, Ga. for several years and served as a Prayer Intercessor. Norma and her husband became members of Tabernacle of Praise Church McDonough, Ga. in 2016. She was ordained as a Deaconess 2017. She served faithfully and volunteered with several ministries of the church. Norma leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband Charles Brown; her mother, Andrea Berry (Norman Antilles Berry Sr);sister, Angela T, Cowans(Bruce); Brothers, Kurt A. Garner (Carrie), and Norman Artillus Berry Jr. nieces Shannen, Shanell, Lashawnda, nephew, Atlas; her aunt Joan Lee Shannon, and a host of extended family members and friends. Norma will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She had a special ability to draw people to her whether they were known or unknown to her. She was very cheerful and full of life. Her memory will forever reside in the hearts of those who cared and loved her dearly.
