Michael James Cannon

It is with profound sadness and deep respect that we announce the passing of Michael James Cannon, affectionately known as "Mark," who departed this world on July 30, 2026. Born on November 1, 1956, in Troy, New York, Mark was surrounded by love as he peacefully transitioned, with his beloved sister and a special companion by his side. Mark was the cherished son of the late Julius Cannon Sr. and Wilma Dean Ross-Cannon. He was reunited in eternal rest with his parents and his dear brother, Julius Cannon Jr. He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories with his devoted sister, Diane Mobley of Detroit, and his loving companion, Connie Worlsey of Georgia. Mark is also remembered fondly by the children of his late wife, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity. A proud graduate of Glennville High School in Glennville, Georgia, Mark went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army. His military career was distinguished by his Airborne qualification, service in the Army Special Forces, and numerous accolades, including the Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon. His dedication and skill were further exemplified by the Sharpshooter Marksmanship Qualification Badge and the Hand Grenade Qualification Badge he earned. Mark's commitment to his nation was unwavering, and he was honorably discharged with a legacy defined by courage and selfless service. Education was a cornerstone of Mark's life, and while serving in the Army, he pursued degrees in Electronic Technology and Business. His intellectual curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Timber Line Logic Security Corp., where he served as CEO. Through his leadership, Mark championed excellence and innovation in protecting the communities and clients he served. Beyond the professional realm, Mark was a devoted member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church, where he served joyfully as an usher. His faith and his commitment to his community were evident in all he did. Mark's passion for technology was matched by his eagerness to mentor others, always ready to solve problems and share his knowledge. His warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone he met. A celebration of Mark's life will be held on August 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Travelers Rest Baptist Church, located at 2112 Rex Rd, Morrow, GA 30260. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to gather and honor a life well-lived and a man deeply loved. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Mark's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of giving and community. Mark's life was a testament to love, service, and compassion. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the memories and the profound impact he had on all of us.
