Lena Wade

Mother Lena Grace Wade was born February 18, 1933 at Grady Memorial hospital in Atlanta, GA, the 7th Child of Gertrude Jones, Smith. Grace attended Atlanta Public schools and later obtained a Diploma from Stockbridge High School. Grace married the late Marvin Wade Sr. on February 21, 1951 and from that union she birthed 13 children. Grace was a great wife and housekeeper and also worked in the family business, Wade's Catering. She even once had a restaurant named in her honor “Lena’s Grill” on Hunter Street in Atlanta. Grace was known for her delicious cooking but especially known for her cakes! Grace was a great Mom, grandmother, sister, and friend to all. Grace grew up with a strong belief in God. In 1955 She joined CLJC of the Apostolic Faith where she remained a faithful member until her departure. She was the Supervisor of the local Women’s Department for many years and enjoyed her work with the sisters. She loved her church family. A very faithful member, traveling often to many conventions over the years. She enjoyed traveling. In her spare time Grace loved to sing (an alto). She was a seamstress and an outstanding cook. She was an avid reader, especially reading her bible daily. She loved to solve puzzles and word games. She loved talking to and giving advice to her church family. She had a genuine loving personality, to know her was to love her. She would often share laughs with the ones around her. She was loved by many and was a Mother figure to us all. We all loved our mother dearly but God Loves her best. She leaves to cherish her memories Her Children: Janice, Donnie, Harriet, Dale, David, Timothy, Anthony and Micheal, (Marvin Jr, Eddie H. Melvin T., Sherrod, and Patricia , all preceded in death). Her grandchildren: Brian, Melika, Tiffany, Chris, Brittany; Lydia, Alina, and great grandchildren Zoey and Zev. Her Siblings: Lamar and Vivian George, Helen, William, Clarence, Howard, Marion, Tommy and Harold (preceded her in death). A Special niece Helen Trutt whom she affectionately loved as a daughter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
