Idella Moseley

Idella was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Maso and Roxie Pittman on April 17, 1943 in Flippen, Georgia. She attended and graduated from Henry County Training School in 1960. With this class many lifelong bonds and fond memories were created. She was a woman who enjoyed life and expected everyone around her to do the same. Her motto was: “You are only as old as you feel!” She began her love for singing in the school chorus and carried this gift over into the church choir. On September 2, 1978, Idella married one of her high school classmates, Robert Allen Moseley, who accepted her as his beautiful wife and her two children, Veronica Jester Stegall and Marcus (Dionne) Jester, as his very own. Idella accepted Christ at an early age and united with Trinity United Methodist Church in Stockbridge, Georgia, where she was instrumental in starting the senior choir. It was not until her health started to fail that she no longer could do what she so loved and that was to continue her duties in the church and choir. Because of Idella’s love for Trinity United Methodist Church, she delivered the church sermon as a Lay Speaker on several occasions. She took it to heart because she wanted to deliver messages that not only touched hearts but changed souls. Within the last years,she decided to join her loving husband at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Stockbridge, Georgia, another church she so dearly loved because of family and friends. Idella made her transition from this earthly life to life eternal with God on Thursday, January 2, 2014. In spite of her illness, she was able to bring in the New Year and wished her family a “Happy New Year!” greeting. Idella was not a complainer - when asked how she was doing, her words were always, “I’m fine - all is well with me!” She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband, Robert Allen Moseley; two children, Marcus (Dionne) Jester and Veronica Jester Stegall; eight grandchildren, Marcus, Da’Quan,Shaquita, Brieana, Roxie, Robert, Felicia and Panina; two great-grandchildren, Bryson and Alani; three sisters, Annie Pearl Bailey, Rosetta Smith and Sinda (Kenneth) Martin; four brothers Raleigh (Shelia) Pittman, Alton Pittman, John Daniel Pittman and Robert Henry Pittman who preceded her in life’s transition; a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. James (Dorothy) Moseley; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
