Helen Reynolds

Helen Delois Harris Reynolds, born on September 28, 1950, in Hampton, Georgia, transitioned to be with the Lord on November 22, 2024, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. As the youngest of four siblings, Helen held a special place in her family’s heart. She is now joyfully reunited with her beloved parents, Rev. Freddie and Pearlie Harris, who preceded her in death. Helen shared a remarkable love story with her devoted husband, Sylvester Reynolds, to whom she was married for over 52 beautiful years. Together, they raised their cherished son, Eric Reynolds, who brought immense pride and joy to her life. A proud graduate of Westside High School's Class of 1968 in McDonough, Georgia, Helen began her professional journey later that year at Cotton State Insurance Company/Country Financial. She dedicated 42 years of exemplary service to the company before retiring. Helen’s vibrant spirit shone through her passions. She delighted in traveling and was renowned for her incredible baking talents. Her cheesecakes, Red Velvet cake, and her legendary Key Lime cake were treasured by all who had the joy of tasting them. In her retirement, she found great happiness spending quality time with her husband and doting on her only granddaughter, Elise, who brought light and laughter to her life. Helen’s journey of faith began at the tender age of eight when she gave her life to the Lord. Under the guidance of Rev. JL Glaze, she became a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in 1958. A dedicated servant of the Lord, Helen poured her heart into her church community through her involvement in the Women’s Ministry, the Usher Board, and the Mass Choir. Helen leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted husband, Sylvester Reynolds; her loving son, Eric Reynolds (Falesha); her adored granddaughter, Elise Reynolds; her sister, Dollie Harris Lynn; and her brother, Sam Harris. She is preceded in death by her brother Willie Harris. Her extended family includes brothers-in-law Forice “Honk” Reynolds (Marjorie) and Johnny Reynolds, sister-in-law Evelyn Jenkins (Al), and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Helen’s life was a testament to love, faith, and service, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
