Gloria Ann Rose

McDonough Chapel Gloria Ann Rose was born to the late Kenneth Allen Sr. and Thelma Bean Allen on September 6, 1951 and departed this life on June 22, 2015 at Piedmont Fayetteville Hospital in Fayetteville, GA. Gloria attended Washington Street High School in Brooks County, GA and received an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Blayton Business College of Atlanta, GA in 1972. On December 21, 1970, Gloria was united with Charlie William Rose at First Elizabeth Missionary Church in Grooveville, GA. Shortly thereafter, Charlie joined Gloria in Atlanta, GA which they made their permanent place of residence. Through their union, two children, D’junea and Duane were born. Gloria’s first job was at Lovable Bra Factory. Gloria began her career at Equifax in 1972 and retired in 2004. Her final place of employment was with Clayton County Transportation where she worked as a School Bus Driver until her final retirement in 2014. In early childhood, Gloria joined New Grove Baptist Church in Quitman, GA. In 2004, Charlie and Gloria relocated to Hampton, GA. Shortly after relocating, Gloria joined Mount Olive Baptist Church where she volunteered in various capacities including greeter and church driver. Gloria was a hardworking, dedicated, compassionate, loving woman with a breathtaking smile that immediately lit up rooms. In her younger years, she was a dominated slow pitch softball pitcher and was recruited by many softball teams. Gloria loved cooking, baking cakes, socializing, playing cards, and traveling to her grandchildren’s softball games. Gloria constantly stressed the importance of spending time with and being there for family. She was preceded in death by her sister Jessie Allen Barr (FL) and brother Ellancer Allen (GA). Gloria leaves to cherish her memories; husband Charlie W. Rose, two children; D’Junea Jackson (Jack) Hampton, GA and Duane Rose of Jonesboro, GA; three brothers and three sisters; Horace Allen (Helen H.) of Woodbine, GA, Haywood James (Ocie) of Conley, GA, Kenneth Allen Jr. (Cassandra) of Pavo, GA, Kinley Allen Jamison (Art) of Charleston, SC, Helen Allen of Jonesboro, GA, and Loretha Head (the late Ernest) of Douglasville, GA; six grandchildren Larvarus Tucker, Loveisha Tucker, Lavette Tucker, Javon Anderson, DeVonte’ Rose, and Tiffany Rose, her in-laws; Robert James Rose (Lizze Mae), Marie Mitchell, Emma Jean Baker (Herman) and Wallace Rose; host of uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other sorrowing relatives and friends. Note from the family: We always have to remember that everything works to our good for those that love the LORD. By and by it will get better every second, every minute, every hour, to every month of the year. God will not put anymore on us than we can bear. As we seek God’s wisdom, tears will stop and a smile will appear from all of the memories will turn a rainy day into a sunny day. Gloria will always live in our hearts, minds, and souls.
